Cypress essential oil-

Latin name:  Cupressus sempervirens

Extraction method:  Steam distilled

Parts used:  Leaves and twigs

Countries of Origin:  France, Italy, Corsica, Sicily, North Africa, Spain, Portugal.

Point of interest:  Ancient Greeks and Romans planted it on temple and burial grounds.  (Battaglia)

Perfumery note:  Middle to Base

Color:  Colorless to pale yellow

Aroma:  Reminisciant of juniper and pine.  Soft and sweet

Properties:  Contact an aromatherapist

Energetics:  TCM-regulates the flow of blood.  Mojay-Cypress promotes the circulation of Qi.  Associated with the Metal and Water Elements. (Battaglia)

Blends well with:  Florals-lavender, Linden blossom.  Woods-Sandalwood, Rosewood, Pine.  Citrus-Lemon, Orange, Bergamot.  Herbals-Clary Sage, Rosemary.  Others-Benzoin, Juniper.

Mode of application:  Bath, topical, compress, inhalation, diffuser.  

Safety information:  Non-toxic, non-irritant, non- sensitizing.  Do not use oxidized oil.  No contraindications.
